Gymnasts post strong results at pair of meets
Friday May 9 2008
Members of the Halton Hills Gymnastics Centre’s junior competitive girls’ and pre-competitive boys’ teams (6-9 yrs.) turned in some superb results at two separate invitational meets this month.
The girls participated at Pulsars in Newmarket and the boys performed demonstrations at the Bramalea Gymnastics Club. These athletes are training at the provincial level and posted strong finishes across the board. Elel Baker, David Sandor and Carson Sullivan included some Level 2 skill elements into their routines, which adds a higher level of difficulty.
At both meets, Special Merit Awards were won by Elel Baker for Best Swings on High Bar and Syan Baker for Most Artistic Beam Routine. These Special Merit Awards were awarded to one out of approximately 50 other gymnasts from several flights, many of them being a few years older than the HHGC winners.
