Man charged with racing after crash

An Erin man is facing charges after an accident on Trafalgar Rd. at Hwy. 7 Saturday about 12:15 a.m.
Halton Police were running radar on Hwy. 7 at that time when they clocked a driver traveling at an excessively high rate of speed.
The officer activated his roof lights to pull over the vehicle when the driver of the vehicle attempted to turn onto Trafalgar Rd., lost control and ended up in the ditch. He wasn’t injured.
Police found the driver had marijuana in his possession.
Charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, racing, and possession of a controlled substance is Kevin Holtom, 22, of Daniel St.

Police are investigating several break and enters into vehicles in town over the past several days.
• Change was taken from an unlocked vehicle on Hamilton Cr. sometime between 12:30 and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
• CDs, sunglasses and a camera valued at $1,500 were taken from an unlocked vehicle on Gooderham Dr. sometime late Monday or early Tuesday.
• A toolkit and GPS system were taken from a vehicle at a Barber Dr. residence sometime late Monday or early Tuesday.
• A cell phone was taken from an unlocked vehicle on Faludon Dr. sometime late Sunday or early Monday.
• Sometime between 1 and 3:40 a.m. Tuesday a vehicle was entered on Hamilton Cr. Nothing was taken.
• Late Monday or early Tuesday a vehicle on Samuel Cr. was entered and tools and sunglasses valued at $250 were taken.
• Two DVD players and DVDs valued at about $500 were taken from a vehicle at a Storey Dr., Acton residence sometime late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Approximately $2,500 in damage was caused to several buses at First Student Canada on Mountainview Rd. sometime between July 1 and Wednesday (July 23).
Fire extinguishers were discharged in some of the buses and two-way radios were stolen or damaged.
