Dale Drake of Woodville was one of many horsemen who brought their Percheron heavy horses out to Nurseland Farm on Trafalgar Road Wednesday, to take part in the World Percheron Congress plowing match. Drake competed in the sulkey plow (riding plow) class, which is not as common as the walking plow. In spite of the inclement weather, an eight-horse hitch was employed to pull a three furrow riding plow from Alberta, as a demonstration event. The World Percheron Congress horse show has been ongoing all week in Toronto.
